Everyone knows this. Many business documents are exchanged on a paper-basis. This causes many manual tasks and needs a great effort. E-Business means to connect systems of different parties via open standards. E-Business means automated system2system-communication. Through this the manual tasks in business-processes can be drastically reduced.

The openTRANS-Initiative with german and international leading industrial partners under lead of Fraunhofer IAO and University of Duisburg-Essen BLI takes up the cause of standardization of business-documents (like invoices or quotations). This is the base for system-to-system-communication. Under this circle of experts those business-documents are defined in xml-based format.

The earliest development of the openTRANS project-team ist the improvement and further development of the standard to version 2.0. Many improvements were made and went into the standard in 2008.

You can gain profit from this efforts by using this free, open and modern XML-based standard. Register for free and download the packages if you visit us the first time. After registration you can download the specification as PDF(unfortunately we are currently still working on the english version of the specs, we will deliver as soon as possible), the XML-scheme, DTDs and some examples. Since this release is quite a new one and the XML-schemes are most important one we still have to create the examples and DTDs. These will be added in the next weeks in november and december.
