E-Business intends to connect various sytems of business-partners. E-Business means to automate the system-to-system communication. Thus manual tasks in business processes can be reduced.

The openTRANS-Initiative aims to standardise business documents which are the base for system-to-system communication. These business documents are request for quotation, quotation, order, orderchange, orderresponse, invoice, invoicelist, advice of remittance, acknowledgement of receipt, notification of dispatch.

Comprising various indutrial partners and science-partners, the openTRANS-task force works out business documents based on xml-technology and defines solutions for the integration of buyers, suppliers and marketplaces.
